Anne Harkin-Petersen

Anne Harkin-Petersen is a painter based in County Galway whose abstract work invites contemplative engagement through colour, depth and layered mark-making. Her work is concerned with a world beyond the tangible, opening a portal into a domain that encourages imaginative openness and alternative perceptions. She works primarily in oils on canvas/linen creating immersive, non-representational spaces that invite reflection rather than resolution.

Biography

Anne Harkin-Petersen holds an M.A. in the History of Art, a B.A. (Hons) in Fine Art and Design from the Centre of Creative Arts and Media, Galway, and a Diploma in Theology from NUI Maynooth. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including at Model Sligo, Luan Gallery Athlone, Ballina Arts Centre and The Art Museum at Daugavpils, Latvia. She has undertaken residencies at Tyrone Guthrie Centre, Cill Rialaig and the Mark Rothko Centre, Latvia, among others. Her paintings are held in public and private collections including The Education Centre, Galway, The Dean Hotel, Galway, The Mark Rothko Centre, Daugavpils, Latvia, Galway City Council, Prospect Hill, Galway.
