In his latest solo exhibition, Dublin-born artist Colm Mac Athlaoich invites viewers to explore the psychological rhythms of the digital age.
‘On the cusp of happiness and other people’s sunsets’ examines how our minds constantly fluctuate between the public and the private. By juxtaposing expansive, romanticized imagery (like shared sunsets) with deeply intimate, close-up scenes, Mac Athlaoich mirrors the modern reflex of scrolling through the digital world—oscillating effortlessly between deep internal introspection and outward attention to the world around us.
About Colm Mac Athlaoich
Colm Mac Athlaoich (b. 1980, Dublin) is a contemporary Irish artist whose work is held in prominent national and international collections.
He studied at The National College of Art and Design (NCAD) in Dublin and Sint Lucas in Brussels. A foundational figure in the independent Dublin art scene, he was the co-founder and co-director of Monster Truck Gallery and Studios. Mac Athlaoich has also collaborated closely with master printmakers at both The Graphic Studio and The Black Church Print Studios.
